Parks Zeigler Community Involvement

Parks Zeigler, PLLC’s involvement throughout the community is important to both our attorneys and staff. And whether we’re supporting local causes such as the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore; mentoring students through the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association; participating in fundraiser events for local charities such as REACH and Corporate 5k; or financially supporting international charities such as Indo Jax Surf Charities, Inc.; we recognize the importance of giving back to the communities that we live and work in. Concerned Lawyers Advocating Spousal Safety

  • Concerned Lawyers Advocating Spousal Safety (CLASS) is a pro bono project sponsored by the Virginia Beach Bar Association.
  • The goal of the program is to provide representation to victims of domestic violence at the hearings for protective orders.
  • On the morning of the hearing, a CLASS attorney is assigned to represent the victim during that hearing only.

Indo Jax Surf School

Indo Jax charity is an amazing charity organization that brings its world-renowned surf program to needy young children. Working with Homes of hope orphanages, they house, feed, and transport 80+ orphan girls annually for a 10-day surf safari. For 8 years now, Indo Jax Surf Charities has been traveling to Kochi India to work with orphan girls.

Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore

Since 1981, the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, a member of Feeding America™ and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, has been providing food for hungry people throughout Southeastern Virginia and on the Eastern Shore. In our mission to lead the effort to eliminate hunger in our community, the Foodbank has distributed over 313 million pounds of food equating to over 261 million meals throughout our 4,745 square mile service area, which includes the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Franklin and Virginia Beach as well as the counties of Southampton, Northampton, Sussex, Isle of Wight and Accomack. During the 2015-2016 fiscal year, the Foodbank distributed over 18 million pounds of food equating to 15 million meals to the community.

The Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association’s Mock Trial Program

Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association (NPBA) taught basic trial skills to students from the Norfolk Public School system. The mock trial program originally began with two schools and has now grown to eight schools with over 100 students participating. Parks Zeigler’s attorney Alex Cloud volunteered his time to coach the students from Ghent Middle School in this year’s 2017 folk & Portsmouth Bar Association mock trial competition. This year, a final was held between the top-scoring prosecution team (Ghent) and the top scoring defense team (Lakeview). Congratulations to all who participated.

The King’s Daughters Infinity Circle

The King’s Daughters Infinity Circle was established in 2015 in the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake, Virginia. It is an organization of women dedicated to raising funds, awareness, and visibility for the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters through yearly fundraisers and major projects like the Run Walk for Kids, Breakfast with Santa, and Moonlight & Mistletoe. The Infinity Circle is one of 44 adult circles that work to ensure that the children of CHKD can receive the best medical attention and care possible.
