Posted on Aug 27, 2019

The weekend starts tomorrow and there’s a lot going on in Virginia Beach and the Hampton Roads region, so we’re doing to dive right into our weekly Let’s Get Local post so you can start planning! Below is a list of five events that we are looking forward to!

Let's Get Local

Norfolk Tides vs Charlotte Knights: August 30th at Harbor Park; 7:05 PM
The Norfolk Tides are running a great promotion that might be of interest to fans of NBC’s hit comedy The Office. Also, the first 5,000 attendees in the park will receive an Office themed crossword puzzle. Come for Stanley Hudson, stay for the baseball! For more information, click here.

Answering America’s Call: August 31st at The Mariners’ Museum and Park; 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
If you’re a history buff, or if you have intimate connections to the first World (as we’re sure many do), visit the Mariner’s Museum this Saturday to check out "Answering America’s Call: Newport News in World War I. The exhibit “commemorates the 100th anniversary of America’s involvement in the 'war to end all wars,'" with a specific focus on how the war impacted Newport News and greater Hampton Roads. Symphony Under The Stars: September 1st at Chesapeake City Park; 7:30 PM
There is a lot of classical music in Hampton Roads and we are so grateful for it! This weekend you and your family can head to Chesapeake City Park for Symphony Under the Stars, a free performance of timeless masterpieces from Wagner, Beethoven, Mancini, and more from the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. Bring your blankets and chairs and be sure to show up early to get a good spot.

The AMF is back and looks to be better than ever. National and local acts will be performing all weekend at various locations on the Oceanfront.
