Another weekend is on the horizon which means it’s time for us to get local and let you know about what’s going on this weekend around Hampton Roads. Below we’ve picked out five events that caught our attention for this weekend. As it has come to be expected, there is no shortage of fun events happening every weekend in our region.
Norfolk In-Water Boat Show: September 13th – 16th at the Waterside Marina
This weekend the Waterside Marina and FestEvents will host the only in-water boat show that happens in Hampton Roads. All weekend long you can check out an array of powerboats built for fishing, luxury yachts, and personal watercraft.
Marbled Mugs: September 13th at the Museum of Contemporary Art; 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Create your own unique and colorful coffee mug using nail polish with the help of instructor Jade O’Day. This is a perfect way to spend a night out with friends – creating art while relaxing with a glass of wine and good conversation.
Millers Bike and Brews: September 14th at Benchtop Brewing; 2:00 Pm – 6:00 PM
Get out and ride your bike for a good cause, and stop at the top local breweries while doing it! All proceeds for this event go to benefit The Miller Foundation and its charities. Tickets include beverages, performance bike tee, one Millers water bottle, a swag bag of brewery stickers, coasters and cozies, coupons from breweries and event partners, and snacks.
Neptune’s Fall Wine Festival: September 14th – 15th at the Oceanfront (31st Street Stage)
Head down to the beautiful Oceanfront to partake in some of the area’s best wines of all varieties. And if that isn't enough to get you out of the house, there will be delicious food and live entertainment as well.
Stargazing: September 15th at the Virginia Living Museum; Sunset - 11:00 PM
Did you know that on the second Sunday of every month, the Virginia Living Museum hosts a stargazing event? Multiple telescopes are set up throughout the grounds and knowledgeable staff is on hand to inform of you of the night sky that you’re gazing upon. There’s nothing like getting a clear and focused look on the planets and stars in our galaxy. You can also check out the planetarium for a laser show! This is a fun and educational event for the whole family!
