Let's Get LocalWe’re back with our Let’s Get Local post looking ahead to this weekend. The big event happening is the Neptune Boardwalk Festival which will last through the weekend, but we included some other options on our list if you’re looking to stay away from the crowds.

We hope you have a great weekend, and as always, stay safe!

Neptune’s 46th Annual Boardwalk Festival: September 27th – 29th at the Oceanfront
The annual Neptune Boardwalk Festival is happening this weekend, and it packs a lot into those few days, including an art and craft show, an international sand sculpting contest, an 8k race, the grand parade, and a whole lot more.

E-Cycling: September 28th at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center; 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
We always want to let people know about these types of events because recycling your electronic devices can be a nuisance, and events such as these provide a good opportunity to easily get rid of them in the right way. And hey, while you’re down there, you may want to check out the Neptune Boardwalk Festival.

Haunted Hunt Club Farm Halloween Festival: September 27th at 6:30 PM – 11:30 PM
This Friday marks the first night of Hunt Club Farm’s Halloween festivities! Come for the fun frights and thrills provided by a haunted hayride, the Field of Screams, and the Village of the Dead! Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year, and it kicks off the Holiday season right!

2019 All Breed Dog Show: September 26th – 30th at the Hampton Roads Convention Center
If you love dogs, then this is the place to be this weekend! Dog lovers can talk with breeders, groomers, and handlers at this five-day event sponsored by the Langley Kennel Club, Virginia Beach Kennel Club, and the Chesapeake Virginia Dog Fanciers Association. Admission is free and there will be a large variety of dog vendors so you can shop for your own good doggos and puppers. Oktoberfest: September 28th at Big Ugly Brewery in Chesapeake; 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Big Ugly Brewery in Chesapeake is hosting their first annual Oktoberfest event this Saturday with live music from Dixie 7 and delicious German-style food from Knights of Columbus who also helped organize the event! There will be seating under a tent, but it’s recommended that you bring your own chairs just in case. Enjoy!
