Background and Education
Meagan was raised in Wilson, North Carolina. She is a double Tar Heel, attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both her undergraduate and law school degrees. Meagan graduated undergrad with Distinction obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology with a Second Major in Public Policy and a minor in Social & Economic Justice. She is also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Meagan graduated UNC law school with Honors and was active during her schooling. She was a Staff Member for the North Carolina Civil Rights Law Review, a member of the Holderness Moot Court’s Arbitration Team, and the President of Christian Legal Society. Meagan gained hands-on experience through the Youth Justice Clinic, an externship with the Eastern District of North Carolina’s Federal Public Defender’s office, numerous pro bono service hours, and summer internship opportunities.
Becoming Part of Parks Zeigler
Meagan chose to work at Parks Zeigler after law school because of its mentorship opportunities and the client-centric focus, giving her the opportunity to focus on each individual client and their needs. She is also passionate about giving back to the Eastern North Carolina community and saw the firm’s Elizabeth City location as the perfect place to do just that.

In her free time, Meagan enjoys playing with her Aussiedoodle puppy, Franklin, and weekend trips to OBX with her significant other, Garrett. She also enjoys traveling with her mom – they recently completed a Western Road Trip that included stops in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado!
