Lia was born and raised in Virginia Beach and is a second-generation Tidewater native. Having transplanted to Williamsburg, Virginia Lia now works remotely and joins us in the office as often as she is able. Lia graduated from Tallwood High School in 2004 and began studies at Tidewater Community College (TCC) thereafter. While enrolled at TCC full time, Lia also worked as a receptionist for a local real estate law firm. There, Lia discovered her interest in the law and subsequently focused her education on the legal field, obtaining an Associates of Applied Sciences in 2008.
Lia previously worked as a legal assistant/paralegal for a prominent Norfolk family law attorney and after over five years with her previous employer, Lia found her home here at Parks Zeigler, PLLC in 2012 (initially with Kellam as part of his solo practice prior to the formation of Parks Zeigler, PLLC). Lia has assisted Kellam and several other attorneys in the firm with paralegal duties for nearly a decade. In April 2022, Lia left the paralegal world behind and transitioned to our Marketing Team. Lia is excited to learn more about the world of marketing and to continue to contribute to the success of Parks Zeigler by utilizing the knowledge and skills she has honed here in a new and different way.
Outside of work, Lia enjoys spending quality time with her husband and teenaged son, deepening her yoga practice, hiking with her dogs, trying out new and visiting well-loved craft breweries (she highly recommends Alewerks if you’re ever in the Williamsburg area), cooking, kayaking, taking weekend road trips and sampling all that life has to offer along the way.
