Jennifer S. Rossettini | Estate Planning, Elder Law

Jennifer is an experienced attorney and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional. A New Jersey native, she studied Psychology and Music at Rutgers University and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995. She studied Law at Widener University Delaware Law School and earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1998.

Job History and Experience

Jennifer knew from a very young age that she wanted to be an attorney. While her younger self envisioned a career as a criminal prosecutor, she discovered during law school that she really enjoyed tax law and the legal analysis associated with complex issues rather than litigation.

Immediately following law school Jennifer started her legal career as a creditors’ rights attorney and relocated in 2004 with her husband and infant daughter to Virginia Beach, where her career really changed shape and her 20+ years as an estate planning attorney and financial planner began.

Jennifer began this phase of her career as an attorney with a local well-known elder law firm, assisting clients with the design and implementation of their estate plans and helping them navigate the intricate rules surrounding Medicaid eligibility for the payment of long-term care expenses. In 2006, an interesting opportunity to expand her capabilities presented itself when Jennifer was offered a position as a financial planner with the wealth management division of a regional financial institution. She took a year to educate herself on the various aspects of financial planning, including insurance, investments and retirement planning, and earned her CFP® certification in 2008. Jennifer spent her years as a financial planner counseling high net worth individuals, families, and business owners on the best ways to structure their financial lives for maximum enjoyment, tax savings, and legacy planning.

Jennifer returned to the practice of law in 2018 rejoining the same elder law firm she left to be a financial planner. During her seven years with this firm, eventually as a partner, she expanded her practice to include assisting clients in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings and with all aspects of estate and trust administration, including navigating the probate process and completing required tax forms.

Jennifer was pleased to join Parks Zeigler, PLLC in 2025 to head up its Virginia Estate Planning and Elder Law practice areas and fully utilize the firm’s embrace of modern technologies for better client service
