Safety Concerns on Shore Drive Virginia Beach

Shore Drive continues to be a source of concern with accidents and fatalities increasing. Once upon a time Shore Drive was considered a nice leisurely drive by the Bay connecting Virginia Beach and Norfolk; however, with the increase of traffic and speeding drivers resulting in personal injuries and deaths, the speed limits were lowered and it is no longer as safe as it once was.

There used to be a sign posted that read:  “Warning: 81 people have DIED on this road since 1977," but has since been removed, presumably because the numbers keep climbing.

The growth of the area with housing, restaurants, and bars along Shore Drive has led to the increase of the number of cars on the road.  This development also has led to more pedestrians crossing Shore Drive. Many patrons of these establishments may not be fully aware of their surroundings when they wander onto the road, or the drivers themselves may be impaired. Either way, you need to be extra careful when on Shore Drive.

If you have been injured in a car accident due to the negligence of another, the aftermath can be a confusing process. You’re hurt, your life’s routine disrupted, and you don’t know the correct procedures to protect your rights.
