March 14, 2018Oliver The Service Dog

My name is Oliver. I am proud to be named after Oliver Wendell Holmes who served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1902 to 1932.

I am a service dog in training through Mutts With A Mission, a non-profit organization located in Portsmouth, Virginia that trains service dogs for veterans and Wounded Warriors. I am being raised by Parks Zeigler, PLLC - Attorneys at Law, a law firm in Virginia Beach, in hopes of making a veteran’s life a little easier.

I am a Great Dane and at full size I should stand 36 inches tall and weigh approximately 170 pounds, which will give me great strength and reach to be able to assist the veteran I am paired with. I came to Parks Zeigler at 16 weeks and 43 lbs. (as pictured below). During my puppy training, I will be living with Geri Clark, her family, and their five year old Standard Poodle named Rio. Geri is the Marketing Manager at Parks Zeigler and when I am not out and about in the community training, I can be found under the desk in her office.

Please join me on this journey as I grow and learn to become the best service dog possible.
